About this safari
If you have already seen the Mara, go north. Meru, Samburu, Solio and the Aberdares see fewer visitors and show you animals you will not find in the south.
Samburu's "Special Five" are the best known of these. This makes a good second trip to Kenya, and it suits wildlife lovers who prefer quieter places.
Day by day
Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi
We take you to your hotel.
Day 2: To Meru National Park
You drive to Meru through scenery that changes along the way, then go on a game drive in the afternoon.
Day 3: A full day in Meru
Spend the whole day exploring the park on game drives. Meru is far quieter than the southern parks.
Day 4: To Samburu
You travel to Samburu and go out on a game drive in the evening.
Day 5: Samburu and Buffalo Springs
Spend a full day searching for the Special Five across Samburu and Buffalo Springs.
Day 6: Solio Rhino Sanctuary
You transfer to Solio and go on a game drive.
Day 7: Rhinos, then the Aberdares
Start with a morning of rhino viewing, then continue to the Aberdare ranges.
Day 8: A guided hike in the Aberdares
Walk with a guide through the Aberdares. In the afternoon you can add a game drive if you like.
Day 9: Back to Nairobi
You return to Nairobi, and we take you to the airport for your flight.
