Morning treks in Kibale forest, with an hour watching a habituated group.
Kibale National Park, near Fort Portal, is the main place to track chimpanzees in Uganda. Groups set out in the morning with rangers and trackers, then spend one hour with the chimps once they are found.
The forest also holds colobus, red-tailed monkeys and a long list of birds. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary walk next to the park is a good way to spend the afternoon.
